Frank began his career with a consulting engineering firm in Port Moresby, before joining a construction company that specialised in building airports, roads, and bridges in remote parts of PNG. His vision in founding Kramer Asia Pacific was to create a Pacific-based engineering business built on professionalism, integrity, and technical excellence—qualities that would make it the trusted partner for governments, development agencies, and industry leaders. Today, the company has played a central role in hydrocarbons, mining, and other major development projects across the Pacific.
Passionate about developing the next generation of Pacific engineers, Frank has dedicated much of his career to mentoring young professionals in PNG and the wider region, encouraging them to expand their skills and reach their full potential.
Born on a Catholic Mission in Madang, Frank completed high school in Queensland before earning a Science degree in PNG. With the support of a Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship, he graduated with an Engineering degree in Canada in 1974. He went on to become the first Papua New Guinean President of the Institution of Engineers, PNG, and the first PNG engineer to be named a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
Frank’s contributions to engineering and community have been recognised internationally. He was awarded the Papua New Guinea 10 Years of Independence Medal in 1985, appointed Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1992, and conferred the Knight First Class of the Order of the Lion of Finland in 1999 for his services as Finland’s Honorary Consul to PNG—a role he continues to hold today.
